In most cases, yes. We prefer to personally inspect the project site before providing a final estimate.

A site visit allows us to evaluate important factors such as access, existing concrete, excavation requirements, drainage, slopes, site conditions, dimensions, and other factors that can affect the project.

We may be able to provide a preliminary estimate from photos for simple projects, but a site inspection is generally required for a final proposal.

9. How long does it take to receive a concrete estimate?

Our typical turnaround time is approximately one week after the site visit. The timing can vary depending on the complexity of the project and our current workload.

10. What factors affect the cost of a concrete project?

Several factors can affect the cost, including project size, concrete thickness and specifications, site preparation, excavation, demolition, reinforcement, access, drainage, concrete pumping requirements, finishes, and permitting requirements.

Every project is different, which is why we prefer to evaluate the site before providing a final price.

11. How long does a concrete driveway typically last?

A properly designed and installed concrete driveway can typically last 25–30 years or more with appropriate maintenance.

Its lifespan depends on factors such as soil conditions, drainage, site preparation, concrete quality, thickness, reinforcement, installation practices, weather, and how the driveway is used.

12. How long before I can drive on a new concrete driveway?

For a typical residential driveway, we generally recommend waiting approximately 7 days before parking a regular passenger vehicle on the new concrete.

Heavier vehicles, RVs, trucks, or unusual site conditions may require additional time. Concrete continues gaining strength as it cures, with approximately 28 days generally considered the full curing period.

13. Can concrete be poured during Portland's rainy season?

Yes, concrete can be installed in the Portland area during the rainy season, but weather conditions must be carefully monitored.

Rain, freezing temperatures, and other unfavorable conditions can affect concrete placement and finishing. We monitor the forecast and schedule projects around weather conditions whenever possible. If necessary, protective measures can be used to protect freshly placed concrete.
